Perched on a hilltop with stunning views of the surrounding Tuscan landscapes, the first thing that strikes you about Borgo Pignano is its scope. A landscape dotted with farmland, gardens, streams, orchards, vineyards and rows of olive trees, the estate sits on 750 acres of pure perfection. Borgo Pignano traces its heritage to 1139 and today is a very successful luxury retreat with nature and well-being infused in its very core. Various types of accommodations make Borgo Pignano the perfect home for couples, families, or even larger groups; the main villa offers 14 elegant rooms and suites while La Canonica – the 13th century Priest’s House – offers 2 suites. Then there are the maisonettes and cottages. Borgo Pignano is a true and authentic expression of everything Tuscany; when on its grounds, you get a feeling of unanimity and honesty. For those looking for wide screen TV’s in the rooms, Borgo Pignano is not the place. It is instead for those who appreciate eating pasta made from organic wheat grown on the estate itself or who look forward to tasting fresh-from-the-hive honey each morning. Everything at Borgo Pignano seems perfectly in synthesis with its environment, its history and culture. Of course, a long list of engaging activities add to the overall experience as well, including cooking classes with genuine hosts, wine tastings, yoga, horseback riding, painting, soap making, and so much more… all right on their premises.

Sincere smiles greet you wherever you go when staying at Borgo Pignano. Whether from Francesco, their master mixologist pictured above on the left or from Lisabetta, their herbal expert pictured right, genuine conversation and attentiveness is always offered. Incredibly important to its success and the man whose vision crafted Borgo Pignano into what it is today is none other than Luciano Lusardi (pictured in the middle above). Luciano has managed many luxury hotels and he owns a very impressive resume. But it is at Borgo Pignano where he can express luxury in a different way. Luciano’s eyes glaze over when someone mentions ‘corporate credos’ or ‘thread counts', but watch his face light up when he talks about the organic pasta or homemade soap made on property at Borgo Pignano. This is a man on a mission and the mission is pure Tuscan bliss!
