Dear *|FIRSTNAME|*,

We are proud to present this next issue in our series focusing on the people, culture and communities that make up our diverse Waterstone Collection. Throughout the series we will continue to introduce you to people who are passionate ambassadors for their local cultures and communities.

In this edition we focus on the General Manager and the Business Director of The First Roma, Marco Marroni and Barbara Anklin
.

Comprised of three properties throughout Rome, each with an individual focus, The First Roma offers a truly unique experience in the Eternal City. Learn more about these boutique hotels below and find out how to enjoy Rome like a local.

"Rome has never been so appealing. All throughout the pandemic we kept hearing from our friends abroad that the first place they want to visit upon traveling is the Eternal City to throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain, as this will ensure they will keep coming back no matter what. As a native Roman, I could not agree more with this plan!

Now, more than ever, it is vitally important to provide each guest with an individual experience and a sense of belonging. At The First Roma, this is our main focus, and I am very proud of our team for continuing to deliver personalized service and authentic journeys for our guests day in and day out. We hope to have the honor of extending a warm welcome to you and your clients in the Eternal City very soon!”

 Marco Marroni
General Manager, The First Roma

In the heart of bustling Rome, The Fist Roma manages to offer an intimate experience at each one of its three boutique hotels. Lovers of art, shopping, food or wellness are sure to find their haven within one of these properties, which were all built with a unique focus and innovative concept in mind. Committed to delivering a comprehensive Roman experience, The First Roma provides all of their guests full access to the different neighborhoods and distinct offerings of all 3 properties.

The First Arte, nestled on a quiet street near Piazza del Popolo, is an intimate hotel brimming with contemporary art, elegance and charm. Originally a 19th century palazzo, The First Roma Arte was thoughtfully restored and transformed into a chic and refined 5-star property with the sophistication of an aristocratic home at just 29 rooms and suites. With ‘art’ in its name, there’s no mistaking the unique focus of this hotel. Here, over 200 impressive and original pieces created by some of the most important artists on the Italian art scene are on display throughout the hotel, making it feel like your own private art gallery. The Michelin starred Acquolina Restaurant, along with the stunning AcquaRoof Terrazza Molinari which offers panoramic views over Rome, are the cherry on top of The First Arte experience.

Those with a sweet tooth will find their haven at The First Dolce, where the innovative patisserie restaurant ‘VELO’ sets a new standard in Rome. From the fresh, homemade pastries served upon arrival to the mouthwatering sweets that accompany the hotel’s unique high tea experience, The First Dolce gives new meaning to the phrase la 'dolce' vita. Ideally located on Rome’s famous shopping street, Via del Corso, this property blends the elegant design of 19th-century architecture with contemporary interiors. Here, guests will find just 23 refined rooms and suites that provide a warm, residential feel with the same exceptional service offered across all of The First Roma hotels.

The First Aqua, opening in the spring of 2022, will be located along the banks of the Tiber River in the posh neighborhood of Prati. To add to the comprehensive First Roma experience, which already covers culture and cuisine, this boutique hotel will focus on wellness with a relaxing spa and an indoor swimming pool. From the incredible floor to ceiling windows in most of the 24 stylish rooms and the vibrant rooftop bar and restaurant, guests will be able to enjoy panoramic views over the city at what is surely soon to be the capital’s most trendy hangout spot.

"The area around Piazza Navona is my favorite corner in Rome! Here you can:

Visit the Chiostro del Bramante, a perfect example of Renaissance architecture and home to some of the best contemporary art exhibitions in the city.

Stroll through Via del Governo Vecchio, a picturesque street filled with charming wine bars, typical restaurants and vintage stores that feels untouched by time.

Mingle among the locals at Piazza del Fico, one of the popular places for Roman nightlife and a meeting place for actors, singers and famous people.

End your day at the AcquaRoof Terrazza Molinari for a last drink admiring the churches and rooftops of the Eternal city illuminated by the moonlight."
