The 7th floor terrace of the iconic Hotel Hassler Roma, available exclusively to guests, is home to one of the most expansive and breathtaking views in Rome. Now open for the season, guests can enjoy the view while sipping on a spritz, savoring a cappuccino or trying the new menu crafted by the hotel's newly appointed chef (stay tuned for more info on the 28-year-old Chef Andrea Antonini).
Opening later this month is the hotel's outdoor Palm Court Garden which becomes home to the Hassler Bistrot for the season and offers guests a delightful outdoor dining experience complete with a new menu.
Celebrating Florentine History With WTB Hotels
2019 is a special year for the city of Florence. Not only is it the 500th anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci's death, but is also the 100th birthday of the iconic cocktail, the Negroni.
Currently open to commemorate Da Vinci's death is "Verrocchio, the Master of Leonardo,” an exhibit in Palazzo Strozzi. All 4 WTB Hotels in Florence (Hotel L'Orologio, Hotel Santa Maria Novella, Hotel Balestri & Hotel Garibaldi Blu) are offering a package that includes tickets to view this exhibit which ends July 14th. As for celebrating the Negroni, the 4th edition of "Florence Cocktail Week" is being held May 6-12 and "GARIBALDINO," Hotel Garibaldi Blu's bar, has been invited to participate in the celebrations. During the events, Massimo the bartender (left) will create "Il Conte Ritorna," his personal take on the Negroni. He has shared the ingredients so perhaps you too can enjoy "Il Conte Ritorna" when 5pm rolls around... MARTIN MILLER’S GIN, Cointreau Molinari, Bitter Campari, infusion of Sambuca Molinari with Kummel (few drops). Cheers!
Monthly Recipe: Insalata Mista alla Sina Brufani (Perugia)
Towards the end of last year, we held several cooking events where some of our General Managers cooked dinner for advisors. We will continue sharing the recipes used at these events with you, as we did last month with "Assorted Pizzas alla Byron." This month we have "Insalata Mista alla Sina Brufani" prepared by Stefano Chiesa,General Managerof Perugia's Sina Brufani. Buon appetito!
To Prepare:
Combine radicchio, arugula, bibb lettuce, fennel and
artichoke hearts together in large bowl. Sprinkle in
parmigiano. Dress with extra virgin olive oil and juice
from lemon to taste. Season with salt & pepper. Toss
to combine, then serve.
